I've finally gone and done it...

by Brittany Geragotelis

...and started a blog.

I've been writing for as long as I can remember...at first it was just the beginnings of stories--Ones that I never finished. But then when I was 16, I wrote my first book (after waking up from a wicked dream and having the whole storyline figured out). I even went on to write professionally and have been an editor at American Cheerleader magazine for nearly nine years (yes, there is a cheerleading magazine and no we don't wear uniforms to work) and I'm currently writing my sixth book.

So why then, with all my love for writing, have I been hesitant to start a blog? Well, to be honest, for a long time I thought that my regular, everyday life simply wasn't as adventurous, interesting or thrilling as the books I write.

But that's not really true. I've chatted with Miley Cyrus over the phone. I had a walk-on role in one of the Bring It On movies (I'll let you guess which one). I dated a guy who used to be on the CW (back when it was still the WB; you'll have to guess this one, too). I've discussed high school life with Dakota Fanning. I've eaten appetizers with Paula Abdul and had lunch with Meg Cabot. And at one point I was training to be in the Olympics.

So, I guess maybe the real reason I've been putting off writing a blog is...well, I'm not exactly sure why. Maybe it's because it's a little odd to be writing about myself rather than fictional characters. Maybe it's because I've been too busy writing books and searching for an agent to start one before now. Maybe it's a little bit of both.

Whatever the reason, I think I'm finally ready...so if you stick with me, I promise I'll try to come up with SOMETHING interesting to share on here.

5x5,
B.
