Mish-mash of writing world news

by Brittany Geragotelis

Here's what's going on in the writing world:

*Poor Judy Blume has more to worry about than just banned books. The infamous YA writer's grandson has been arrested for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl in Blume's home.

*Kate White, the uber powerful editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine is also a murder mystery writer. Check out what the magazine mogul had to say about book writing.

*Successful author, James Patterson, has become the first author to sell 1 million e-books.

*Something Borrowed author, Emily Giffin, is psyched to see her novel made into a movie starring some of today's hottest stars!

*Stieg Larsson's may be gone, but his writing lives on. Apparently the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo author was nearly finished with the 4th book in the series when he passed away.

*Author of The Secret is getting ready to share The Power with us.

*This author offered her book online for free, and ended up snagging a book deal!

*Wonder who you write like? This cool site that will let you know if you write like Stephen King or Dan Brown.

*JK Rowling's being sued by a dead guy.

Ah, nothing like getting sued and landing a book deal without querying to lift your spirits and dampen them equally.

But oh man, Judy Blume. That's terrible!
