Abby Diaries Book Quote 1

by Brittany Geragotelis

Hi all!

Hope you're having a kick-ass week so far! I've officially finished writing THE ABBY DIARIES, a supplement for my upcoming debut novel, WHAT THE SPELL? and can't wait for you to read it. So, to get you fired up, here's a cool quote from THE ABBY DIARIES. If you like the quote, be sure to check out the actual book here. And if you just like the quote, be sure to pass it around to your friends!

Awwwww! The Newfoundland

by Brittany Geragotelis

So, at our apartment, Fridays mean Mexican Food and movie night! My BFF, Tammy comes over and we all chow down on nachos and tacos and watch a movie. Then, Matt usually sneaks off to play video games and Tammy and I stay up watching various shows on Netflix.

Last Friday's Netflix option was the comedy, "Samantha Who?" If you didn't see it when it was on, it's a really funny show starring Christina Applegate ("Up All Night") and Melissa McCarthy (from "Gilmore Girls" and "Bridesmaids"), where Christina's character has amnesia after being hit by a car and slowly remembers all the awful things she did in her former life.

Anyways, Melissa's character has these dogs. These incredibly large, ginormous, bear-like dogs. Now, Matt and I have been wanting a dog for a while now and we're always looking at pups on Reddit. So, I decided to look this breed up.

And they're insane! They're called Newfoundland's and they're huge and adorable! I don't know if I could handle a dog this size, but they are so, so cute! So, because it was just too much adorableness for one person, I decided to share some pics with you! Let me know what you think. Would you be willing to take on a dog this size or does size matter?

Going under the knife

by Brittany Geragotelis

So, this past week was not an easy one in the Geragotelis household...

First off, after suffering from some tooth aches, I finally sucked it up and went to the dentist. If you know me, than you know I'm terrified of the dentist. And I'm embarrassed to admit it, but it had been 3 years since I'd been to the dentist, all because I get so freaked out. We're talking panic attacks just having them clean my teeth. Anyway, the pain got bad enough that I ended up going...and had to get a few cavities filled and two wisdom teeth out.

So, last Wednesday, I went in, they knocked me out and took out my wisdom teeth. Now, one of the teeth, you couldn't have noticed anything had been done. There was no pain, no swelling, no nothing. The other? Oh man....it was awful. So much pain. My cheek more than doubled in size and it was rock hard. I ended up being really nauseous and was throwing up the first two days, possibly because of the pain killers, so I stopped taking them and switched over to advil and tylenol. I can barely open my mouth wide enough to fit a spoon in there, so for about four days, all I could eat was liquids. Ugh, it was miserable.

But that's not all.

The day after I had my wisdom teeth out, we had to bring our kitty, Cohen, in for surgery. He had a calcium stone in his bladder and they had to go in and take it out. While in there, the doctors found more stones in his urethra, and had to try and get those out, too. So, when we got to take Cohen home on Saturday, his poor little belly was shaved and he has a long line of stitches across his stomach. And he was peeing blood. This was apparently normal, since all the surgery took place in his bladder. But still, it's hard to see someone you love in pain.

He seems to be doing better now, though. Resting, relaxing, running around. And i think I'm finally on the mend, too. So, here's hoping that the worst is over. I hope that everyone else is in good health!

Poor Cohen had to have his belly shaved for his surgery
Cohen's bloodbruise looks like a kiss on his belly!
My kitty was a bit mangy when he first got home from the hospital....
...But he's still so cute!
Ick! Chipmunk cheeks! Cant wait to eat solid foods again!
The two of us recovering. We'll be back on our feet again soon!
